Help Us Get It Right the First Time!
To avoid delays and keep your order moving smoothly, we ask that you provide clear, detailed instructions when placing your order. The more we know upfront, the better we can meet your expectations β with fewer revisions and faster turnaround.
Here are examples of helpful details you can include:
π· Photo Style Selection
Please select a photo style and provide any specific instructions. For instance, you could choose from:
- Banner Photo
- Oval with name on front
- Oval with name and years on front
- Oval with name and full dates on front
- Full Bleed
- M-Series with photo on back
- Other styles as preferred
πΈ Photo Preferences
- If the photo includes multiple people, please specify which person you'd like us to use. You can describe them visually, such as:
- "The person wearing glasses"
- "Second person from your left (as you look at the photo)"
- Count left to right based on what we see in the photo β the person on the far left is #1, the next is #2, and so on.
- "The man in the blue suit"
- "The woman in the floral dress"
- Should we zoom in to show just the head and shoulders, crop to waist-up, or include the full body?
- Would you like us to:
- Blur the background slightly to highlight the person?
- Replace the background with a soft portrait-style backdrop?
- Keep the original background, but clean up any clutter or distractions?
- Remove other people or background objects?
- Are there special touches to keep in, like a birthday cake, glass of wine, musical instrument, favorite chair, or military or religious attire?
- Should we remove or retain medical items, such as oxygen tubes, wheelchairs, or hospital settings?
β±οΈ Photo edits take time. Clear instructions upfront help us meet your expectations quickly. If a re-edit is needed due to unclear or missing guidance, your order is moved to the back of the queue β behind other orders still awaiting their first proofs and those already in line for corrections. We must treat all customers fairly and process orders in the order they are received.
π¨ Design Elements
- Would you like a cross or religious symbol on the card β or prefer none at all?
- Any preferences for font style, backgrounds, or color themes?
- If weβre matching a design to another card or printed item, please let us know.
π Clarifications That Prevent Mistakes
- If the Date of Birth and Date of Death are the same, please confirm that this is correct.
- Clarify gender-specific names if they could be misread (e.g., a traditionally female name used for a male).
- Let us know about any intentionally omitted information so we donβt assume it was an oversight.
- Do you prefer ALL CAPS, all lowercase, or Title Case (where the First Letter of Each Word is Capitalized)?
- For churches, cemeteries, and officiants, we usually use ALL CAPS by default β unless it visually interferes with the design, in which case we use our best judgment. No need to specify unless you have a strong preference.
The more information you share now, the smoother the process β and the faster we can create something that truly meets your expectations.
